Ten Days of Awe (Repentance and Praise)
Please join with Pray KC, pastors and believers in a season of prayer beginning this Friday. In Jesus’ time, the season of the Jewish calendar between Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) was set aside for what they called “the days of awe”. These were Ten Days of Awe and Repentance for God’s people to pray about their life and the life of the nation before the most holy day of the Jewish year – the Day of Atonement. During this unique time in the rhythm of Jewish feasts and celebrations, we as followers of Jesus are being extended an invitation by the Pray KC prayer and renewal movement to join together in prayer, whether in person or on ZOOM. In some ways this invitation is like the call of the rams horn was for God’s people in Old Testament times; calling us together as a larger people to approach God in humility and contrition.
We want to invite you to consider participating either in person or as a part of the ZOOM platform that is explained on the website The 10 Days of Awe. Some may be able to and have a desire to join with others in person. Others may choose to utilize the ZOOM opportunity for a variety of reasons. Whichever way will allow you to join, know that our hearts are coming together as the larger Body to pray in repentance and awe before God.
You will find more information on how to participate at 10 Days of Awe.
Please note that this starts soon, this coming Friday. May you each experience a unique time with God and may we all experience a connection with other believers as we come together before the Lord.
