Easter Lily Remembrances
Easter lilies are a flower associated with fresh life and rebirth. On Easter, as we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection, these flowers help remind us of Jesus’ victory over death. The bulb of these flowers, buried in the ground, represents the tomb of Jesus, and the glorious white trumpet-like fragrant flowers which grow from the bulbs symbolize His life after death.
Traditionally throughout the church, people have dedicated an Easter lily to their loved ones as a way to remember and honor their faithful lives. As we see these lilies we are reminded of Jesus’s words, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die” (John 11:25).
