2012 Summer Camp Experience
This summer, the Youth Committee has decided to use Youthfront for our summer camps for middle and high school students for summer 2012. Students entering grades 6-8 will be attending Youthfront Camp West, and students entering grade 9 through 2012 graduates will be attending Youthfront Camp South. Youthfront has been providing incredibly fun and amazing faith-building camps for many years. Community Covenant Church places a high value on students participating in life-changing, spirit-filled experiences, and have scholarships available through the Erik Schmidt Memorial fund. These scholarships are usually given up to $100 per student. Once students are registered via the camp page on the Youthfront website, we will get them more information about transportation and further details about their week at camp.
There are several reasons why we have chosen Youthfront Camps for Summer 2012. Here are a few of the most significant for us:
- Excellent, intentional age-specific spiritual formation strategy, that helps students experience God in a vibrant way
- Counselors are college students combined with youth pastors. The college camp counselors have age-specific training
- Location (no long drive, students can leave during the week for summer sports if necessary, cuts down on transportation costs)
- Students can meet other students they may see at school or within their district activities
- It has large variety of recreational activities that will appeal to a broad range of students, a lake with paddle boats and canoes, a swimming pool, zip line, paint ball, organized games, ATV's, the Blob, etc
- Opportunity for student leadership development through their excellent Teen Staff program
- Connects us to the greater body of Christ here in Kansas City
Registration is now available online for 2012 camps. We have 15 spaces reserved at Youthfront Camp West (Middle School) and 15 spaces reserved at Youthfront Camp South (High School) for week 3. We need to fill those spaces by March 1.
