Preteen Missions Trip Report:

We had 9 preteens and 4 sponsors attend the Week of Hope Missions trip in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The theme for the entire week was “Reframe,” and we had the opportunity to explore this concept through stories of Jesus’ ministry and the life of Peter. During this week we served on two different sites. One group helped a retired Jamaican missionary with the upkeep of her house and yard. Our other group worked at a free drop off daycare housed at a city playground where children would be served breakfast, lunch and cared for during the day. Each day our group would also serve through site leadership roles, meal preparation and cleaning tasks. We would participate in worship services each evening and explore devotionals twice a day. We finished our week by stopping at the Mall of America for fun playing on the zip line, ropes course and riding a roller coaster before heading back to Kansas City. It was a great experience for our preteens as they “reframed” their perspective of what it means to trust and follow Jesus Christ. Thank you for your support and prayers for this ministry, we are grateful to be at a church that empowers and encourages young people to begin serving at a young age to be missional leaders for this present generation.
