Covenant World Relief

Thanks to all who gave to Covenant World Relief on January 20th. Your gifts, coupled with money earmarked from the church’s Mission Fund will enable Community Covenant to send over $12,000 to CWR.

CWR has an outstanding track record and during the last 60 years. Our church has been giving to CWR ever since the founding 34 years ago.  Most of the giving is on CWR Sunday each year but there is value in giving throughout the year as God leads.

Have a look at the Evangelical Covenant Church for more information on the Current Projects that Covenant World Relief are engaged in. They are Community DevelopmentDisaster and Special Projects.

CWR provides a way to do things “better together”. It often partners with other respected organizations including these:

-The Covenant Church in Colombia, India, Kenya, Sudan, and Sweden Covenant Connected organizations in India, Mexico and Thailand.

-World Relief International – founded in 1944, WRI partners with evangelical churches in North America and with indigenous partners in the countries where CWR ministers.

-Bread for the World, a non-partisan, U.S. Christian citizen’ movement devoted to encouraging public policy aimed at alleviating domestic and global hunger.

-Foods Resource Bank, an organization that works to mobilize and increase the resources needed to support agricultural food security systems in some of the world’s poorest villages.

Hopefully you will adopt CWR as your favorite way to give to the needy in many parts of the world. Perhaps you will come to trust CWR to do a great job and with only a small portion going to administrative expenses. Be assured that 90% of your donations will go to projects and people under the leadership of Dave Husby. Dave spent 10 years as a Covenant missionary to Japan before becoming CWR Director.
